AIBL donates specialized hospital beds, aircondition machines and life-saving medicines to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Burn Unit

Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. has donated 20 Specialized Hospital Beds, Aircondition Machines for 2 wards and adequet emargency life-saving medicines to the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital recently. The donation was made in response to the terrible fire incident at Nimtali, Dhaka, in which hundreds of people died and got wounded. The support was handed over to the Project Director Dr. Samantalal Sen by the Deputy Managing Directors of the Bank, Jb. Ihsanul Aziz and Jb. Md. Rafiqul Islam. Among others, Vice President Jb. Engg. Jb. Badiur Rahman and Jb S. M. Shameem Iqbal have been re-elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. respectively. They were elected unanimously in the 197th meeting of the Board of Directors held on 10th June, 2010. According to the decision of the meeting Chairman Jb. Badiur Rahman and Vice-Chairman Jb. S M Shameem Iqbal will continue their responsibilities for the period of next 1 (one) year (i.e. 10-06-2010 to Next AGM).

Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. approved 30% Bonus Dividend and 1:1 Right Share

Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. has been approved 30% Dividend in the form of Bonus Share for the year ended 31st December, 2009 in its 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 10th June 2010 at Bangabandhu International Conference Center, Agargaon, Dhaka. Prior to that, the 14th Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) was held at the same venue and same date. The EGM approved the 1:1 Right Share subjuct to the approval of Regulatory Authorities. The Bank achieved growth of 29.19% in Deposit and 30.25% in Investment during the year 2009 compared to 2008. Bank also reduced its Classifid Investment to a large extent. At the end of 2009 Classified Investment of the Bank stood at 1.68%. The Shareholders participated in the review of the overall performance of the Bank and expressed their satisfaction. They made some valuable suggestions for improvement of performence and image of the Bank. The Chairman of the Bank Jb. Badiur Rahman thanked the Shareholders for the confidence entrusted on the Board of Directors.
