Mr. S M Shameem Iqbal has been re-elected as the Vice Chairman of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. The 225th meeting of the Board of Directors re-assigned him as the Chairman unanimously on 20/05/2012. According to the decision of the meeting Vice Chairman Mr. S M Shameem Iqbal will continue his responsibilities for the period until the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bank is held.
Mr. S M Shameem Iqbal was born and brought up in Dhaka and hails from a respectable Muslim family of Gaibandha district. After successful completion of Secondary and Higher Secondary certification from St. Paul’s School of Darjeeling, India, Mr. Iqbal graduated on Business Administration from Southeastern University, London, UK. He also achieved MBA from the same institute. Professionally Mr. Iqbal is a prominent businessman both locally and internationally. He is the Chairman of Dominox Realty Ltd., Dominix IM Ltd., Managing Director of KDS Accessories, Director of KDS Textile Mills Ltd. He also is a former Director of National Bank Ltd., the first private bank in Bangladesh. Beside these, Mr. Iqbal is associated with many social organizations. |
